ACH Specialist
We are currently seeking an ACH Specialist to join our team. 

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of electronic funds transfer, bank account settlements and processing electronic payments within the department.  
 
Responsibilities

Under moderate supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Reviews and audits the ACH data file integrity and accuracy prior to file transmission.  Recommends additional system checks and fail safes as appropriate.    
  • Reviews bank accounts daily for chargebacks or NSF’s.
  • Researches and responds timely to finance requests on tax payments documentation.
  • Prepares financial support spreadsheets as requested by finance for reconciling escrow accounts.
  • Works with operations and tax teams in investigation and resolution of banking issues. 
  • Processes client debit and credit requests through the system.
  • Assists with all Quarter End/Year End (QE/YE) tasks and related duties to complete tax filings for federal, state and local returns. 
  • Reviews garnishment and vendor payments to ensure accuracy. 
  • Assists finance with reconciliation of escrow accounts and refunding/collection monies.
  • Processes ACH and EFTPS tax payments. 
  • Provides accurate timely service to all clients concerning any interaction related to ACH/QE/YE issues or inquiries to ensure client retention and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma is required.  Associate’s Degree is preferred. 
  • Over 3 years’ experience in Accounting, Tax, banking and/or payroll is preferred. 
  • Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills are necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, balancing, Clearing House procedures, banking and electronic files.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, recognize and resolve problems
  • Proficient use of Microsoft® Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other application programs as needed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
