As the Administrative Support Associate, you will provide administrative, accounting, and membership support and extends to staff, members, and the general public.

To thrive, you should have:

  • 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably with membership associations, with comparable responsibilities and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; awareness of EMDR therapy strongly desired. 
  • Knowledge of email software, word processing software, and spreadsheet software. Knowledge of association software such as AMS, LMS, and Zendesk is strongly preferred.

Travel Requirements: Travel is required to attend 2 to 3 Staff Planning Meetings annually. Travel may be required to attend and staff the EMDRIA Conference or Summit. It’s held annually and may require 4 to 7 days of travel time.

Your responsibilities as the Administrative Support Associate will include:

  • Serves as a primary phone and support agent
  • Assists members, prospective members, and the public with joining EMDRIA, renewing membership, accessing membership benefits, conference registration, using the EMDRIA website, using the Find an EMDR Therapist directory, etc.
  • Process EMDR Canada memberships
    • Maintains EMDR Canada roster; creates new member records when needed
    • Creates orders and invoices for new memberships and renewals
    • Sends notification emails to EMDR Canada members regarding their membership
  • General accounting duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Creates, adjusts, and deletes invoices as needed. Follows up on open invoices to ensure they are paid in full or cleared out by the end of the month.
    • Processing check payments/deposits
    • Maintaining payment batches (creating and closing) in Association Management Software
    • Issuing refunds
    • Handling returned checks and credit card disputes
  • Continuing Education Event duties (conference, summit) as assigned
  • Supports, along with other staff, association-wide projects and functions as assigned
