What Is the Role?
As Business Development Assistant you will provide support to our client’s BD team to ensure timely and consistent delivery of core company services to clients guaranteeing a positive client experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a top 5 European-based intellectual property law firm.

As the Business Development Assistant, you will be involved in actively engaging with US-based clients and working with the greater sales and marketing teams. You will provide support to the US Sales and Marketing Team in terms of being a further point of contact with the firm for Clients, and in having an awareness of the work which the firm does for that Clients, who the key contacts are at the Client and having an ability to manage any Client issues.

You Will:

  • Work alongside the Client Experience Manager, to train and then actively take the lead in on-boarding new Clients of the business, particularly in the US market.
  • The Client Experience Manager would also provide training to facilitate Client setup and demos of the online Client Portal system.  Undertaking Client Engagement or satisfaction surveys pertaining to the service provided by the firm would also be required, from time to time.
  • You would also assist the Client Experience Manager and team within the Durham office with various administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will need to establish a rapport with each of our US clients.

  • Be in regular correspondence regarding one-off projects and reports that are regularly requested by our clients and effectively lead these types of projects to delivery (while liaising with our operations team). 
  • Activity will be measured by how many clients’ the candidate has liaised with.
  • The candidate will also have at any given time 15 to 20 active client projects (from portal training, budget reports, Bill enquires, docketing/E billing requirements, Quote Preparation, on-boarding Support, scheduling meetings, search quotes and deliveries, CRM (HubSpot) management for clients, event logistics, sending follow-up emails and supporting marketing documentation, etc.). of (and, in time, input to) the wider aspects of marketing and brand strategy.

You Should Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time and assign priority
