The Commercial Portfolio Manager is responsible for supporting the loan portfolio by soliciting new business and servicing clients to produce ancillary business. Supports the Lead Commercial Portfolio Manager with monitoring, maintaining and review of overall portfolio risks.

• Monitor and manage a portfolio of business loans and determine how to expand those relationships

• Safeguards the quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio by assisting with the management of the level of exceptions and delinquencies

• Ensures that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates and other relevant data

• Follows up with customers for financial statements and other information as requested

• Service existing customer relationships with Commercial Lenders to promote client portfolio growth

• Reports deteriorating credit situations in a timely manner

• Independently prioritizes between new credit requests and renewals; provides initial credit reviews, recommends appropriate and/or alternative credit structures and provides guidance on policy issues

• Partners with the Lender as a “team” in working with the customers on renewal packaging

• Prepares updated detailed notes of the credit renewal within the Collection Module

• Represents the Bank by becoming an active participant in community activities and service organizations to promote new business development opportunities

• Attend team meetings regularly and reliably which are required in order to support the department’s role and function

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to gather information and provide appropriate solutions

• Ability to communicate effectively with potential, new, and established client groups

• Ability to create, build, and maintain effective and mutually beneficial business relationships with key commercial clients and partners of the bank

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of secured information

• Ability to work in a competing and demanding market

• Ability to work in a goal focused team environment

• Experience with Bank financial analysis and spreadsheet systems associated with lending

• Developed analytical and underwriting expertise, credit quality focus

• Formal credit training is a plus
