Communications Manager


We are currently seeking a Communications Manager to join our team in a temporary assignment.

This position is responsible for developing and executing communications plans with clear objectives and a deep understanding of audiences. Additionally this position must be able to write clear and persuasive short-form and long-form content that informs, inspires and engages with audiences


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Writes targeted, compelling, timely, and appropriate content and copy.
  • Research to validate claims, check facts, and develop new ideas for effective messaging.
  • Writes all types of pieces including employee announcements, intranet copy, feature stories, video scripts, newsletters, email campaigns, presentations, FAQs, toolkits and other short-form and long-form communications.  
  • Keeps a pulse on the business and builds relationships with internal stakeholders to suggest content ideas for editorial calendar. 
  • Works effectively with other writers, designers, account managers, reviewers and legal to produce accurate, persuasive, and informative content.
  • Develops messaging, content, and strategy for new initiatives.
  • Writes, revises, edits, or proofreads copy with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conforms to the Company’s brand style guide and AP style editorial standards.  
  • Produces content directly and in collaboration with subject matter experts and other members of the marketing team.  
  • Conducts interviews with subject matter experts for content, testimonial support, and whitepapers. 
  • Stays abreast of current industry best practices and trends and suggests ways to apply them. 
  • Meets all deadlines, fulfills scheduling commitments, and consistently achieves quick turnarounds in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.  
  • Participates actively in meetings including, but not limited to, brainstorming sessions, kick-off meetings, conference calls, execution of campaigns, client meetings, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field of study is required.
  • Five to seven years of experience in a related field with demonstrated strong writing background and experience are required.
  • Excellent interviewing, research, and technical writing skills with an eye for detail and thorough knowledge of AP Style and grammar.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding and sharing a company’s culture with employees. 
  • Ability to create communication plans using multiple internal modes of communication to reach different audiences.  
  • Ability to tell a story using words and images to draw an audience.
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with key stakeholders. 
  • Able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite
