Corporate Compensation Analyst

We are currently seeking a Corporate Compensation Analyst to join our team. 

This position is responsible for the administration, analysis and development of compensation processes and programs. Studies and analyzes jobs and prepares job descriptions. Evaluates jobs using established evaluation systems, makes recommendations on grade levels and prepares records. Participates in projects as required. Participates in compensation surveys. Audits evaluation of jobs and application of existing job classifications to individuals.

Essential FunctionsUnder minimal supervision and much decision-making:

  • Ensures the effective operation and improvement of multiple compensation processes to include job evaluation, job description development, work design, program and policy application, salary adjustments, and the analysis and preparation of data to support compensation initiatives.
  • Evaluates positions using established evaluation systems, makes recommendations on job titles, grade levels, and internal/external market alignment and works with compliance to determine FLSA classification.
  • Provides support to the Company’s Wage & Salary Committee, compensation administration and pay plan maintenance.
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of analysis of current employee salary, position worksheets and communicating any changes to applicable management as relates to state mandated Fair Pay Acts; i.e. California, New York, Maryland. Responsible for analyzing existing incumbents’ base salary for any new state/location that implements any Fair Pay Acts; i.e. Massachusetts.
  • Provides guidance to managers and supervisors on job description development, organizational structure and compensation-related matters (hiring rates, promotion, equity adjustments, etc.) in order to ensure equitable and consistent salary practices.
  • Collaborates with sales management personnel, Sales Operations, Legal and Finance to develop, model, analyze and write sales compensation plans aligned with the Company’s growth goals and objectives.
  • Participates in the annual review of pay practices and trends, to include the statistical analysis of external market data. Participates in projects as required. Involved heavily with annual projects related to corporate compensation programs, annual Executive Compensation study and the Corporate Base Pay review.
  • Researches and analyzes competitive compensation practices in the job market; contributes to established compensation surveys and/or develops and implements custom surveys as appropriate.
  • Maintains knowledge of Federal, State and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Performs specialized research studies on a range of compensation topics, as specifically assigned; analyzes and interprets data and prepares summary reports.
  • Identifies potential issues and anticipates needs of internal clients.
  • Participates in the training of new supervisors and managers in the education of Insperity Compensation programs as needed.
  • Assists with executive level compensation matters as needed.
  • Serves as backup for all ad hoc analysis and reporting related to compensation.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Management or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in human resources with a compensation focus or compensation field is required.

Licenses/Certifications (if none, leave blank)
        CCP and/or related course work is preferred. PHR (or SPHR) is preferred.


  • Human Resources principals, confidentiality and best practices in compensation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compensation-related Federal, State and local rules, regulations and statutes.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of research methods and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Excel for analysis of data.
  • Customer service principles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and prepare reports.
  • Ability to address difficult & sensitive situations in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to understand and follow broad and complex instructions.
