Director, GPO Technology Operations

We are currently seeking a Director, GPO Technology Operations to join our team.

This position is responsible for defining and executing strategy, and managing the development, integration and administration of technology systems and platforms for the operational units within Gross Profit Operations (GPO), as assigned. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under limited supervision and much decision-making:

·       Defines, develops and manages the execution of technical system/product development and administration strategies for GPO and other technologies managed by the division.

·       Collaborates with the appropriate stakeholders to align the GPO strategy with Insperity’s overall Co-Employment and Traditional Employment vision.

·       Leads and manages the Technology Operations Team in the efficient and effective provision of information-related systems and products ensuring high customer service and satisfaction.

·       Assists senior management in prioritizing the projects/enhancements within each of the operational departments of GPO. 

·       Acts as subject matter expert on product functionality, best practices, and technical constraints.

·       Direct liaison to Technology Department on large, complex projects.  Assists in developing project charter including vision, business drivers, project cost and feasibility, and project scope.  Works with project stakeholders and project team to define and acquire resources for project execution and coordinates efforts of all resources involved in a project with the objective of facilitating and ensuring project plans are completed on time, on budget, and within specifications.  Highly involved with the designated project team, routinely communicates progress to all stakeholders, and alerts management to issues preventing completion on time, on budget, and within specifications.

·       Develops and maintains close collaborative partnerships with Technology personnel and ensures seamless integration with existing technology platforms.

·       Works with internal business units to understand their needs and collaboratively design and implement technical systems that streamline processes, improve efficiencies and minimize service issues.  

·       Manages the compilation and documentation of customer requirements and translates them into design specifications for development.  Makes recommendations on best practices for meeting the needs and expectations of customers.

·       Defines and manages the implementation of system/product enhancements including new releases or upgrades and ensures all customer and quality requirements are met in the final delivery. 

·       Collaborates with business units, project managers, development teams, and user communities during the design, development, test, and launch phases of software development or upgrade and release.

·       Develops and implement training and communication plans related to systems/product enhancements, upgrades, or launches.

·       Measures analyzes, and reports to management on systems/product performance and utilization.


QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Electrical/Computer Engineering is required.

·       Minimum of seven years’ product and/or project management experience is required.  Prior managerial experience is required. 

·       Process improvement/optimization experience and work in a high-tech environment are preferred. 

·       Software development knowledge is desired.

·       Possesses core project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple or large projects in a cross-functional environment.

·       Possesses broad working knowledge of technology applications and architecture, and knowledge of web content management systems.  Understands systems design, development, and testing methodologies.

·       Understands web-based product/service delivery and the overall design and utilization requirements needed to manage a best-in-class service technology platform.

·       Ability to lead and motivate staff to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems. 

·       Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.  Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels.  Possesses strong customer service and change management skills.

·       Possesses proven analytical and statistical skills and demonstrates a sense of urgency directed toward the provision of innovative, successful solutions for specific products and product lines.  Actively drives continuous improvement. 

·       Communicates professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical audiences.  Maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
