Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consultant

We are currently seeking a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to join our team.

This position is responsible for collaborating with existing client executive and leadership teams to develop strategies and implement plans to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) within a client’s organization. This position uses advanced probing skills to facilitate discussions around a client’s current state and desired state specific to their DE&I goals. Assisting clients in aligning DE&I to their overall business strategy and objectives, providing relevant project deliverables, and conducting compelling and engaging training around biases and inclusion in both live and online virtual classroom formats are critical to the success of this role. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under limited supervision and much decision-making:

• Researches and advises on DE&I issues and recommends programs, practices, policies, and community related events around this topic.

• Identifies external trends and recommends best practice which will increase diversity among clients’ workforces.

• Reviews clients’ workplaces, policies, practices, and procedures to ensure they reflect inclusivity within the work environment.

• Establishes client relationships with C-level or leadership teams to align DE&I philosophies with the mission and vision of the client company.

• Determines if any organizational changes are required to successfully execute the agreed upon strategic plan.

• Assists with any change management required to successfully execute the agreed upon strategic plan.

• Ensures project plans/statements of work are delivered as agreed upon by both client and service teams.

• Works both independently and as a collaborative consultant with service team members to create and develop tailored or customized business strategy and/or organizational development and performance improvement services to meet the needs of clients.

• Remains “solution neutral” and leverages analysis to build client recommendations and solutions.

• Consults with internal partners to identify performance improvement opportunities and/or solutions to help close identified DE&I gaps within client organization.

• Solicits, responds, and adapts to learner feedback on the fly in remote and live group sessions.

• Prepares external facilitators to conduct training sessions effectively and within established quality guidelines.

• Participates in the development and application of measurement standards to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and consultation services.

• Participates in on-going learning and maintains awareness of DE&I issues and best practices within the workplace.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources or equivalent is required. An Advanced Degree is preferred.

• Three or more years of work experience and/or research in the field of diversity and inclusion is required. Experience in human resources, organizational development, and/or the business operations field is preferred.

• Experience using virtual collaboration and training tools is required.

• Two or more years of experience working with senior leadership and/or C-level executives is required.

• Extensive experience in facilitating and delivering live and virtual trainings 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

 • Ability to develop leadership and organizational development strategies that will enhance organization

performance with ability to articulate those strategies to senior leaders.

• Ability to identify and work through problems and conflicting issues in a clear and diplomatic manner.

• Strong time management and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple training or

projects simultaneously.

• Consultative skills and negotiation skills.

• Objectivity to maintain a bias-free approach to situations and people.

• Ability to manage own performance in an effective manner when placed in new or challenging

situations.

• Ability to demonstrate comfort in situations where the goal or process to achieve those goals is

unclear and difficult to determine.

• Advanced proficiency with MS Office product suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

• Proven ability to communicate (written and verbally), impact and influence decisions, and build

relationships with consulting clients and team members.

• High degree of integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly

sensitive information.

• Strong organizational awareness with ability to navigate, demonstrating understanding of rules of

engagement, and ability to adjust based on the client.

• Excellent presentation, group facilitation, virtual training delivery and project management skills.

• Problem solving ability and able to deal with conflicts and problems constructively.

• An awareness of global and cultural issues.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travels: Yes, up to 30% of time

As required by the California, Insperity provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in  California. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is between $93,600 and $108,000.
