We are currently seeking a HR Administrative Compliance Coordinator, Unemployment to join our team. 


Responsible for creating a “WOW” experience when leading interactions with external and internal customers by consistently exceeding expectations.  Under moderate supervision, processes unemployment claims, benefit audits, and chargebacks in order to assist clients with certain areas of unemployment.  Organizes files for distribution to records department and handles other administrative duties as assigned.  Serves in a supporting role to coordinators within the department regarding employment verifications, client posters, client terminations and other clerical duties as assigned.  Decision making is moderate, governed by procedure, guided by policy and objective, and focused on daily operations.

Essential Functions
Under general supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Performs data entry by entering unemployment claims into AIMS database on a daily basis.
  • Processes unemployment claims that do not require investigation or consultation with clients.  Specifically, processes claims involving layoffs, client terminations, and other non-issues.
  • Faxes claim responses and wage information to state agencies as appropriate.
  • Opens and sorts mail for unemployment team and as needed within other areas of the department.
  • Researches wage information and processes benefit audits to ensure claimants are not collecting unemployment benefits while simultaneously receiving wages.
  • Maintains organized files and records and sends information to records department regularly.
  • Faxes Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia claims to Insperity’s vendor so that claims and hearings are handled timely.
  • Updates the unemployment team’s SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) on a quarterly basis.
  • Assists with departmental projects as necessary.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Associate’s Degree is preferred.      
  • One to two years of experience in related field is preferred.

Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive job-related information, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.  Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing.  Competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
