Learning & Development Specialist

We are currently seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join our team. 

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for delivery of solutions that enhance employee productivity and equip leaders with leadership skills to effectively lead and manage people.  This position provides facilitation and training services to Field Service Operations employees, including workforce and leadership development training.  This position is responsible for interacting with internal Field Service Operations employees and Performance Improvement team members regarding fundamental training needs.  This is accomplished through, but not limited to the delivery of instructor led Insperity courses, DDI courses, virtual facilitation, and online training recommendations.  This position collaborates with Performance Improvement Liaison and Talent Management Consultants on projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under limited supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Guides leaders and employees to acquire skills, make decisions, or complete tasks by facilitating group communication or delivering training content in areas of leadership and workforce development.   Presents ideas effectively to individuals or groups; delivering presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
  • Delivers training content that is tailored to the specific needs of the client.  This requires the incumbent is able to understand the client’s situation and learn and deliver the appropriate content.
  • Works cooperatively with internal partners to build and execute training plans.
  • Aligns the Company values and business objectives with client needs through an understanding of Field Service Operations goals, including knowledge of market and competition, business growth, operational efficiency, client satisfaction and retention and risk mitigation.
  • Develops and recommends customized learning solutions for client incorporating knowledge/skill gaps, client business goals and objectives and ongoing needs.
  • Creates individualized online training plans and reinforces learning.
  • Orients and assists clients with the Learning Management System.
  • Aligns training solutions with client’s desired outcomes and identified business objectives.
  • Conducts/facilitates training using, but not limited to, virtual, platform, DDI and workshop training experiences.
  • Participates in training activities in conjunction with Performance Consultants.
  • Conducts research to support the client strategic development activities in collaboration with the Performance Consultant.
  • Collaborates with the PIL to create development experiences before, during and after training for a holistic approach.
  • Strategic thinking-Identify opportunities for Performance Improvement escalations; notify Performance Consultant when instructor led courses are unable to meet the client’s business needs.
  • Presentation/facilitation skills- Understand and apply Adult Learning Principles, group interaction dynamics, platform, and virtual presentation skills. 
  • Analysis- Conduct training needs analysis and performance analysis in alignment with company strategy/business objectives as needed for development.
  • Interpersonal- Use appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior situations in a variety of business circumstances.
  • Assists other team members to accomplish company/team goals.  Sets high standards of performance for self and others on team.
  • Work with Performance Improvement Liaison to provide needs analysis and expert advice about leadership.  Consults with client leaders and PIL to develop solutions.
  • Seeks diverse learning opportunities and perspectives; applies new knowledge and skills; uses work challenges as opportunities to try new innovative solutions and maintain effectiveness when experiencing real-time changes in requirements. Actively identifies new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years’ experience in human resources and/or employee relations field is required.   
  • Three to five years of experience in the design and delivery of learning and development programs is required.
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment. 
  • Background in adult education, performance management or human resource leadership is required.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Training certification (DDI) is preferred or must be obtained within six months of hire date. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travels: 50% of the time
