Manager, Property & Casualty Claim Services

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Manager, Property & Casualty Claim Services to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the Claims team to facilitate Workers’ Compensation claims processing and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient client experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under limited supervision and much decision-making:

Relationship Management – Administrative

  • Fosters relationships with the Third Party Administrator (TPA), Managed Care Organization (MCO) carrier, outside counsel, and other outside vendors regarding workers’ compensation claims.
  • Works directly with large clients to develop and deliver customized claim service packages, including specialized Return to Work Programs.
  • Conducts client Insperity workers’ compensation program presentations, in collaboration with service teams.
  • Develops and prepares clear, concise, accurate management reports and presentations, utilizing the Department’s and TPA’s Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) .
  • Coordinates the development of policies and procedures with other internal and external customers that involve activities in the Workers’ Compensation Group.
  • Provides employees with timely, candid, and constructive feedback; develops employees to their full potential; recognizes and rewards employees for accomplishments; prepares and conducts annual performance reviews.
  • Communicates new information on a timely basis to direct reports.

Claim Program Management

  • Manages and oversees Workers’ Compensation claims processing and procedures.
  • Plans and leads claim reviews in conjunction with TPA, MCO and outside vendors.
  • Monitors and handles large value and complex claims.
  • Recommends appropriate action within Company guidelines, insurance policy and/or state/federal law to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Manages the operation and administration of the Return to Work Program.

  • Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.
  • Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.
  • Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree and/or ARM is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of casualty claim experience is required with an emphasis on managing workers’ compensation claim programs.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Workers’ Compensation related certifications are preferred.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of workers’ compensation claims management, leave policies and return to work policies to include knowledge of coverage issues, claims processing, and variations by state. Must have a working knowledge of medical providers and the managed care process.
  • Knowledge of all casualty lines including familiarity with coverage issues is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, thorough, meaningful and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda, policies and other written documents. Problem solving ability; dealing with conflicts and problems constructively; communicating and presenting ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people; work independently with limited direction; and maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
  • Proficiency with claim management RMIS systems, both TPA and Departments’.
  • Ability to create customized loss reports.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office Programs, Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travels up to 25% of the time.
