Your Role:

This role is a warehouse operations process improvement position, dedicated specifically to improving processes within the Flash Global warehouses. This role will be project-based, with several key deliverables identified for specific projects. Additionally, this role will open to working on yet unidentified improvement projects within the scope of the Flash Global warehouses. This position will work with teams based in Columbus and several other locations.

What you can expect to do as the Process Improvement Engineer:

·       Use LEAN principles to design and document process, work instructions, and training materials. Test processes for effectiveness, perform time studies, and build scalable process for 5x volume increase over next 12 months.

·       Collaborate with Ops management on the process design & improvement effort for all new work (primarily) in COLUMBUS OHIO FACILITY, optimizing within labor constraints and service level agreement for timeliness of order processing fulfillment.

·       Examine all existing and new processes for waste and efficiency opportunities, using LEAN principles. Work with team, collaborating on ideas and improvement opportunities. Document and report progress. Communicate with client on progress and efforts as needed. Support existing projects COLUMBUS OHIO FACILITY-based team and account team as needed throughout process design project.

·       Collaborate with COLUMBUS OHIO FACILITY leadership to establish display of appropriate metrics for facility, to include the physical display, the frequency of updates, the most effective metrics to drive change, etc.

·       Collaborate with COLUMBUS OHIO FACILITY leadership to examine existing flows and efficiency of shipping process and existing shipping lanes.

·       Support Operations leadership to participate in the white-boarding design sessions for transactional process flows examination/discussion.

·       For future possible new clients in COLUMBUS OHIO FACILITY requiring assembly, re-pack, or other value-add services; design and establish efficient and optimal process for services, within constraints of labor and service level agreements.

·       Team up with Operations leadership to design comprehensive new client onboarding process for warehouses and for forward stocking locations, working with implementations team or others as needed.

·       Participate as part of the functioning Operations management team.

·       Assist as needed with other projects. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

To be successful, you should have some experience with or have had exposure to the most of the above activities, plus:

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, international trade, business administration or equivalent degree program.

·       Exposure to or experience in process improvement in a manufacturing or service environment.

·       Ability to flex hours across warehouse shifts and schedule as needed

·       Self-motivation and initiative – naturally curious

·       Excellent attention to detail and great organizational skills.

·       Analytical and critical thinking skills and a strong hands-on approach.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
