As an experienced Project Manager, you will manage all aspects of small and medium-sized complex technical projects comprised of design/build and build-to-print projects for a range of clients (e.g., DOE, DOD, NNSA, National Laboratory, Pharmaceutical companies, etc.) per the contracted scope of work consisting of codes, specifications, and drawings.  You will also develop, plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure that the goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished, delivering them on time, to the required quality standards, and at or below budget.

 

To be successful, you should bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related discipline 
  • 5+ years of experience leading projects or programs
  • Experience managing complex projects with budgets greater than US $5M
  • Prefer experience with Government programs/projects and/or experience with nuclear or NQA-1-related programs/projects. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and time management, adept at handling multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficient in team management through influence, fostering collaboration, and achieving results without relying solely on authority.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Self-motivated and action-oriented, able to drive solutions and improve project performance independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively presenting project information to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a custom equipment fabrication or project-based business with percent complete and earned value accounting preferred
  • Experience with government contracts preferred. Experience with CAS Compliance, FAR, DFAR, and GSA preferred
  • Familiarity working within an ERP or MRP system is preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred

 

Your responsibilities as the Project Manager will include:

  • Establishing detailed project plans for each phase of the project and identifying critical resources required to support and execute the project 
  • Report on key metrics, including budget, schedule, and quality, and utilize project control tools to evaluate project performance against these critical metrics at various project phases (i.e., during design, manufacturing, close-out, etc.)  
  • Communicating project plans to customers, project team members, and department leads to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and project metrics 
  • Working with department leads to develop project staffing plans and ensure key personnel and resources are identified early in the project planning process and are available for project execution 
  • Performing risk analysis and developing risk mitigation plans for complex projects, including developing contingency plans and providing transparency for the project 
  • Managing customer expectations and effectively communicating project status, dependencies, issues, and risks to customers 
  • Beginning to develop robust and long-term customer and industry relationships  
  • Actively driving and managing projects and project teams to ensure we are delivering expected outcomes and meeting or exceeding key project metrics 
  • Leading and direct cross-functional teams to include engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and outside contractors
