Senior Workers Compensation Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Senior Workers Compensation Coordinator to join our team. 

Summary
This position is responsible for providing Insperity’s clients with workers compensation insurance documents that are required by state mandates or requested by the client for a variety of reasons. Works closely with the Company’s property and casualty insurance agent with issuing, preparing and/or distributing certificates, policies, Declarations (DEC) pages, related documents, reports, and State-mandated posters to new and existing clients and stakeholders. Moderate decision-making is attached to this position, guided by policy, procedure, and objective with company-wide impact.

Essential Functions
Under general supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Works closely with the Company’s property and casualty insurance agent to ensure they have all the information to issue certificates to clients. Facilitates information between agent and the client and/or internal personnel when necessary.
  • Assists clients daily with obtaining certificates of insurance.
  • Prepares and distributes copies of policies and Declarations (DEC) pages to clients, carrier, and records.
  • Works with insurance carrier and agent to provide policy endorsements and non-accord documents to clients; including but not limited to C105.2, CSLB, other forms required for state compliance.
  • Provides Loss Runs reports for Worker’s Compensation as requested by clients, sales representatives, internal personnel or interested third parties.
  • Provides assumption letters as needed.
  • Distributes State-mandated posters to new and existing clients. Follows up with clients or other service providers on any returned mail to verify/update information (address, name, etc.)
  • Processes experience modifier rating requests and letters.
  • Reviews state inquiry letters sent to clients. Works with state agencies, insurance carrier and client to
  • Resolves complicated coverage issues. Responds to the letters and/or assists clients with a response.
  • Works with the clients and/or internal personnel to approve and add DBA names to policies and certificates.
  • Assists with monopolistic applications in Ohio and Washington, when needed.
  • Verifies monopolistic coverage online based on new client summary emails and alerts monopolistic team of coverage or lack of.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates Degree is preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in related field is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Must know the principles and practices of Worker’s Compensation and general business insurance including knowledge of general business insurance terminology.
  • Strong computer skills required, preferably Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. Organizational and strong customer service skills are required.
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment, familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
