SQL Software Engineer – Remote U.S.

As a SQL Software Engineer, you will program, code, and modify web-based and software applications. This is a remote position, located in the United States, and you should have the availability to travel on occasion to the Maryland office.

To be successful, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, or comparable experience
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience with SQL (structured query language) and either JavaEE or .NET
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally work across all departments and levels
  • Working with the Department of Defense (DoD), you will also hold (or have the ability to obtain) government clearance

Your responsibilities as the SQL Software Engineer will include:

  • Performs application programming, coding, and testing of Windows-based company product/software for web-based front and back-end in Java EE environment with Oracle DB, in accordance with objectives, priorities, schedules and standards.
  • Interacts internally and externally to understand customer objectives and assist with identifying suitable software implementation approaches and operational procedures.
  • Uses DevOps tooling for workflow automation, source code configuration management, patch set and build management.
  • Contributes subject matter expertise to support coworkers involved in the product lifecycle support including front-line customer care, deployment, security hardening and sales engineering.
  • At times of resource strain, assists with non-programming technical tasks such as data conversion, product configuration, performance tuning.
  • Provides technical guidance for cross-department collaborations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Unit’s supervisor.
