TEO Operational Compliance Director

We are currently seeking a TEO Operational Compliance Director to join our team.


This position performs a variety of administrative and confidential clerical duties requiring a thorough knowledge of organizational procedures. Must have general knowledge of Traditional Employment Solutions (TES) Shared Services and Compliance Services goals and functions with the ability to assist in all areas when needed.


Under general supervision and heavy decision-making:

·         Acts as the subject matter expert on assigned discipline-specific products and services (Payroll, Tax, Time), including laws/regulations, enacted and proposed legislation, official guidance, trends, and industry best practices applicable to assigned area of responsibility. Provides strong compliance support and guidance to ensure timely and accurate problem resolution while mitigating risk exposure.

·         Engages in continuous research, monitoring, reviewing and completion of impact analysis of legislative and regulatory developments in the employment law space at the federal, state, and local level.

·         Communicates and provides actionable, comprehensive risk analysis, assessments, and recommendations to internal business partners around potential impact of regulatory and legislative developments on products and services. Consults on requirements for product changes and internal/ external communications. Assists, as appropriate, with implementing new business practices that are developed in response to regulatory changes and product expansion.

·         Assesses compliance implications of products and product enhancements, advertising, marketing, training materials, and other corporate strategic initiatives to ensure compliance objectives are achieved.

·         Develops and maintains constructive, influential relationships and internal business units and partners, including the Legal department and external business partners to ensure compliance needs are properly communicated and executed.

·         Maintains regulatory and compliance documentation and partners with other TES operational compliance directors within the Insperity Centers of Excellence to ensure consistency in process.

·         Understands individual state registration/license requirements necessary for Insperity TES to conduct business. Monitors and responds (after consultation with appropriate internal business units) to regulatory requests.

·         Files appropriate compliance documentation (after consultation with appropriate internal business units) with regulatory agencies.

·         Collaborates with Insperity Data Privacy to implement new privacy and third-party risk management protocols as they are introduced.


    ·         Bachelor’s Degree is required. 

    ·         Seven or more years of compliance, regulatory, or legislative experience in payroll and tax, time, benefits, or human resources is required.

    ·         Experience with a PEO, HCM service provider, governmental agency or operational compliance program is preferred.

    ·         Advanced understanding of key operational and regulatory compliance requirements of one or more areas applicable to TES.

    ·         Knowledge of organization and operation of governmental agencies which regulate TES’s key industries; thorough familiarity with legal research tools including, but not limited to, state and federal codes and regulations and computerized legal research.

    ·         Ability to perform complex tasks relating to operational compliance on regulatory matters requiring initiative, judgment and responsibility with little or no supervision.

    ·         Effectively communicates, both orally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings.

    ·         Ability to act in situations with confidence, assertiveness, tact, and diplomacy. Deals resolutely with sensitive issues.

    ·         Skilled in appropriate methods and techniques to negotiate resolution of conflicts and problems.

    ·         Ability to maintain strong working relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
