Workers Compensation Compliance Specialist


We are currently seeking a Workers Compensation Compliance Specialist to join our team. 


Position is responsible for establishing, maintaining and assisting with payroll reporting for workers’ compensation policies in the monopolistic states of North Dakota, Ohio, Washington and Wyoming, reconciliation of VISA procurement card, distribution of State-mandated posters to new and existing clients to ensure governmental compliance and tracking and reporting name, ownership and FEIN changes.

Essential Functions
Under general supervision and moderate decision-making:

  • Maintains monopolistic database, communications to clients and internal Insperity personnel on processes and procedures regarding North Dakota, Ohio, Washington and Wyoming state coverage.
  • Works with client companies on the application, maintenance and termination of workers’ compensation policies in the monopolistic states.
  • Assists other departments and clients in resolving monopolistic workers’ compensation coverage issues and processing of payroll.
  • Processes loss run reports for prospects in Ohio on an ad hoc basis.
  • Tracks VISA procurement card purchases, reconciles monthly statement and processes invoices for payment.
  • Processes client companies’ name, ownership and FEIN changes meeting individual state reporting requirements.
  • Processes EMR requests and state legal reporting.
  • Review state inquiry letters sent to clients. Works with state agencies, insurance carrier, and client to resolve complicated coverage issues.
  • Cross-trains within department for backup purposes.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.      
  • One to three years of related experience with emphasis on workers’ compensation is preferred. 


  • Strong computer skills are required, preferably Microsoft ™ Suite applications, including Excel, Outlook and Access.
  • Organizational, detailed oriented and strong customer service skills are required.
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
  • Knowledge of commercial lines insurance preferred, specifically workers’ compensation.
