FINANCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST


RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Financial Services department, focusing on supporting PEO services operations payroll responsibilities. Decision making is limited and guided by standard policy and procedure.

    Assists service operations when issues arise related to enrollment or receipt of employee direct deposit, including review and action on the daily notice of change reports (NOC).

    Processes and/or research NOC returned items for employees, contacts respective payroll specialist to take actions, if needed.

    Works closely with service operations to establish client direct debit and resolve issues related to funding transfers for clients or their banks as needed. 

    Reviews and processes service operations requests to research, stop payment and/or replace lost or stolen paper checks including payment after death of employee.

    Review and processes, when all requirements are met, AIMS payroll voids to correct employee wages including generating and sending reversal ACH.

    Coordinates closely with all finance teams, specifically treasury, credit, and accounts receivable in resolving questions related to ACH file creation, resolve funding discrepancies, and providing general funding support to employee/clients.

    Coordinates with banking relationship contacts to research and resolve ACH and/or check issues, including positive pay exceptions.

    Support internal, external, and state audits, as needed.

    Participates in team engagement activities and participants in continuous learning activities in the ACH/banking industry.

    Supports the Financial Services team members to accomplish team objectives and deadlines as directed by the team lead.

    Communicates information to Credit Services.

    Inputs data for an end of month journal entry for banks, as needed.

    Acts as primary backup to the other Financial Services Specialists.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.

    Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.

    Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.

    Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    High School Diploma is required. Associate’s Degree in related field is preferred.

    At least two to three years’ experience in banking/payroll is preferred.


LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

CPP, CTP or other certification is encouraged.


KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

    Problem solving skills that bring a team together to foster engagement and achieve great results.

    Excellent organizational skills with the ability to learn new concepts quickly.  

    Ability to self-manage, organize and execute work in a timely manner.

    Working knowledge of ACH procedures and practices. 

    Good understanding of both payroll administration and payroll accounting procedures. 

    High level of computer proficiency. 

    Communicates clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
