Learning Content Management System Specialist

As the LCMS Specialist, you will administer and maintain IFMA’s LCMS platform, Xyleme. Your responsibilities will include supporting the content development team in managing the production and implementation of learning content to meet training needs. This position is a National Opportunity.


To be successful, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Information Technology, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of Xyleme LCMS or similar systems; experience with Xyleme highly preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in managing an LCMS or similar system
  • An understanding of multiple design and delivery models and e-learning standards and technologies, including SCORM and xAPI
  • Experience with content development and management tools, such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, project management, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills


Your responsibilities as the LCMS Specialist include: 

  • Manage and maintain the LCMS platform, handling updates, upgrades, and integrations
  • Import and implement content templates, overseeing clean-up from pilot through go-live
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on LCMS projects and design concepts
  • Develop and maintain LCMS templates, including branding and publishing outputs
  • Organize folder hierarchy and learn content taxonomy
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and metadata following IFMA’s strategy
  • Set up translation profiles, manage export/import with the translation company, and conduct quality checks
  • Manage publishing outputs, Content Delivery System (CDS), and version control
  • Develop and maintain style guide and LCMS documentation
  • Provide training and support to content creators on imports
  • Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues through the LCMS Help Desk, liaising with IT support
  • Stay updated on learning technologies, recommending system improvements
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Director, Learning Technology
