The Nelson Company seeks Outside Sales (Business Development) to achieve all company sales objectives for the geographical territory established by the company, including territory sales revenue, market and/or key account penetration, and profitability.

To thrive as an Outside Sales (Business Development), you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering preferred.   
  • Sales experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is beneficial, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Willing to train the right individual(s)!
  • Solid consultative selling skills
  • Mechanical or Technical Aptitude
  • Own transportation and be able to travel

 

Your responsibilities as the Outside Sales (Business Development) will include:

  • Prospect and Qualify Leads: Contact potential clients through cold calls, emails, and marketing campaigns and qualify them as sales opportunities.
  • Client Engagement: Present our company and products, identify client needs, customize solutions, and set up meetings or calls with prospective clients.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain long-term trusting relationships with clients while proactively seeking new business opportunities.
  • Reporting and CRM Management: Enter daily activities into the company CRM, report sales results to the Sales Team Leader, and stay updated with new products, services, and pricing plans.

 

About Us:

The Nelson Company distributes all types of plastic pallets, wood pallets, containers, racks, unitizing, and protective Angleboard systems. We manufacture wooden and corrugated industrial packaging products, including custom pallets and containers.
