  • Ability to analyze economic data, conduct research, and develop recommendations with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Cultural competency in diverse environments and familiarity with federal programs (e.g., SBA, EDA, CDFI, HUD, USDA). Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every requirement. At NALCAB, we are committed to building an improved, diverse, and inclusive workplace. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in this job description. You may be the candidate for this role.

Your key responsibilities as the Senior Program Manager – Small Business Investment will include:

  • Plan, organize, and manage grant-making, technical assistance, and training programs to strengthen nonprofit asset-building initiatives, including small business development and loan funds.
  • Assist member organizations with program growth, funding applications, peer-to-peer networks, and best practices while coordinating efforts across nonprofits and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to government entities on economic and small business development policies, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
  • Manage grant-making activities, including outreach, application reviews, grantee monitoring, and project and program budget management.
  • Prepare reports, grant applications, and compliance documentation while giving public presentations, facilitating community sessions, and conducting external meetings.
