SENIOR REPORT DEVELOPER
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specializes in complex reporting designs for Finance Department and Insperity reporting needs. Including, but not limited to, regulatory compliance reports, financial analysis support, management and Board of Director reporting, process streamlining, transaction facilitation, and audit and tax reports applicable to the entire company. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity governed by standards and compliance.
• Develops reports utilizing a variety of reporting tools.
• Develops processes and standards for precise reporting of company obligations to state, county and municipal governmental entities to ensure proper payment of taxes, fees, and licenses.
• Provides accurate and timely delivery of reporting requests and related services that result in accurate financial transactions which meet proper accounting standards.
• Determines reporting output based on business needs ranging from simple tailoring of existing report formats to complete design of electronic data interchange templates for financial reporting to meet information requirements.
• Provides communication to all parties involved in current client and corporate report projects.
• Ensures effective communication and consideration of both the client’s and Insperity’s perspective and liability.
• Gathers and analyzes information on issues, utilizes problem solving ability to provide solutions, meets deadlines and provides general support in order to meet corporate and client needs.
• Serves as necessary back up to report developers across all departments.
• Researches, analyzes, and recommends Finance Department processes to improve efficiencies and leads implementation of improved processes.
• Understands and stays current on general payroll rules, regulations, web developments, and system limitations as they affect reporting processes.
• Participates in the development and design of inter-departmental/cross-functional report related projects for both internal and external constituents including testing new software and providing feedback on development and deployment schedules.
• Participates in efforts to research new products and techniques to streamline processes.
• Provides expertise regarding the implementation and integration of potential new products into existing company information systems.
• Supports process and audit efforts to ensure integrity and accountability for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.
• Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.
• Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or significant related work experience required.
• Four to seven years of payroll and reporting experience required.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
• High level of knowledge in report writing systems with problem solving/logic ability. Ability to design, develop, and document processes and procedures to comply with precise, strict standards as determined by governmental agencies, financial institutions, and client service agreements.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles including but not limited to accounting, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, payroll tax compliance, auditing, and cash management.
• Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, including SQL.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and enhance report templates.
• Extensive knowledge of integration with third party applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn other applications as needed.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to handle a multi-task environment with great skill and accuracy given short deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Excellent communication, writing, and high levels of demonstrated customer service skills.
• Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with all levels within the organization. Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing.
