Assistant – Communications and Marketing

 

Join the George W. As Assistant – Communications and Marketing, you will provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Vice President while helping drive efficiency across a fast-paced communications team. In this role, you will manage executive scheduling, coordinate meetings and travel, support cross-functional communications projects, and ensure seamless execution of departmental processes that power strategic marketing, public relations, and digital communications initiatives.

To succeed as the Assistant – Communications and Marketing, you should have:        

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 1–2 years of administrative, executive assistant, or operations experience in nonprofit, communications, marketing, or corporate environments.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with calendar management, data entry, and administrative systems.
  • Solid organizational, project coordination, and multitasking skills with close attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism.
  • Professional fluency in English required; ability to work occasional non-traditional hours, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

 

Your responsibilities as the Assistant, Communications and Marketing will include:        

  • Manage executive calendar operations, scheduling, and logistics, including meeting coordination, briefing materials, and stakeholder communications in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and domestic travel arrangements, including agenda development, materials preparation, and follow-up action tracking.
  • Process contracts, invoices, and expense reports while maintaining accurate administrative and financial records aligned with internal controls.
  • Support communications and marketing operations by tracking project timelines, monitoring deliverables, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration across teams.
  • Prepare, edit, and distribute professional business communications, reports, and presentations while managing special projects and improving administrative workflows.
