To succeed as the Civil Project Engineer, you should have:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in the State of Texas.
- 3–8 years of experience in civil engineering design, site development, land development, or related engineering projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to produce accurate engineering plans, calculations, and project documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities to meet project deadlines.
- Must successfully complete a background check and be willing to sign a restrictive covenant agreement, including confidentiality and non-solicitation provisions, as a condition of employment.
Our client prefers a Civil Project Engineer to have:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in the State of Texas, or active progress toward obtaining licensure, with a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and project delivery.
- Experience with local permitting processes, regulatory requirements, and design standards within the Greater Houston and/or Central Texas regions.
- Knowledge of design-build and design-bid-build project delivery methods, with the ability to support projects through planning, design, and construction phases.
- Experience working on industrial, commercial, healthcare, corporate, educational, or similar site development projects.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, drafters, clients, and project stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
Your responsibilities as the Structural Project Manager will include:
- Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, paving, utility infrastructure, water distribution, sanitary sewer, and stormwater management systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical analyses, construction drawings, and project documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D to support project planning, design, and construction activities.
- Support the preparation of engineering reports, feasibility studies, schematic designs, permit applications, and regulatory submittals while coordinating with clients, consultants, and permitting agencies.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and data collection efforts to support design development, verify existing conditions, and ensure project accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality projects on schedule, maintain organized project documentation, and support multiple concurrent assignments.
