To succeed as the Controller, you should have:        

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with proven expertise in GAAP compliance, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in overseeing accounting operations within a mid-sized to large organization (100+ employees).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software, plus solid knowledge of MS Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables, index matches).
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Domo, Tableau) and the ability to prepare accurate financial reports and forecasts.
  • Solid attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively.

 

Your responsibilities as the Controller will include:        

  • Oversee monthly closing processes and ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements across multiple companies.
  • Review and verify financial data for accuracy, including entries, postings, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze reports, trends, and forecasts to support business decision-making.
  • Manage investment and affiliate portfolios, including analysis, research, and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on audits, budgets, and forecasting to ensure financial integrity and alignment with company goals.
