As the General Manager for BCL, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a central receiving and storage center, loading dock operations, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring seamless logistics functions. Lead a dedicated team of Operations Managers and Logistics Technicians, working collaboratively to enhance warehouse efficiency, customer service, and overall performance. To thrive as a General Manager, you should have these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of leadership experience in a directly related industry, such as logistics or warehouse operations.
- 5+ years of experience managing teammates and teams, including hiring, coaching, development, and performance improvement.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive short- and long-term objectives.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, particularly when communicating with executives and stakeholders using PowerPoint and other media.
- Proven ability to use data for quantitative analysis, conduct root cause analysis, and develop and execute effective action plans.
- Strong customer focus, planning, organization, networking, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Proficiency with word processing, email, database, internet, and other business technology tools, with strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
Your responsibilities as a General Manager will include:
- Implement company goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and process improvements to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure warehouse teams are fully trained, professional, self-motivated, client-focused, and compliant with all security, safety, and company requirements.
- Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to uphold BCL’s performance standards, resolve issues efficiently, and cultivate strong relationships.
- Develop operating procedures, policies, and Professional Development Plans (PDPs) to achieve financial targets, KPIs, and contractual metrics.
- Provide consistent leadership and coordinate with Operations Managers and other functional areas to optimize production, staffing, vehicle utilization, and material handling equipment.
- Manage daily logistics operations, delivery volumes, vendors, and logistics technicians while ensuring safe and efficient warehouse performance.
- Monitor operational reporting, develop staff in logistics, customer service, regulatory compliance, and operations, and drive monthly, quarterly, and annual process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel if requested
- Assist in the protection of BCL’s Intellectual Property and Proprietary Operating Procedures Activities
