Information Technology Specialist/Business Analyst

As an Information Technology Specialist / Business Analyst, you will support IT service desk operations, Microsoft 365 administration, and cybersecurity service delivery, while also assisting federal program teams with requirements analysis, documentation, testing, and customer support. You will play a critical role bridging technical support and business analysis, helping organizations improve IT operations, cybersecurity readiness, and program performance within the DC Metro Area federal contracting environment.

Required Qualifications:     

  • Security clearance eligibility required; must be able to pass a background check and obtain a U.S. Federal Government security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience in IT support, business analysis, or federal government contracting environments may be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT help desk support, IT service desk operations, managed service provider (MSP/MSSP) environments, or federal program support.
  • Demonstrated solid customer service and communication skills with the ability to support technical and non-technical stakeholders, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools, technical documentation, and IT ticketing systems.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or other IT support/cybersecurity certifications relevant to federal IT and cybersecurity programs.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, or ISO 27001, and experience supporting government clients or regulated environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and supporting enterprise IT operations.

 

Your responsibilities as the Information Technology Specialist / Business Analyst will include:        

  • Deliver IT Service Desk & Technical Support: Provide Tier 1–2 help desk support, including password resets, MFA assistance, account unlocks, and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) while triaging service tickets and escalating complex issues to maintain IT operations and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Administer Microsoft 365 & Identity Management: Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint administration, including user onboarding/offboarding, license management, endpoint enrollment with Microsoft Intune, and device access troubleshooting across enterprise environments.
  • Support Cybersecurity Monitoring & Compliance: Assist with security alert monitoring, log triage, and incident documentation using tools such as Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel, while supporting compliance activities aligned with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and ISO 27001 cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Perform Business Analysis & Program Support: Gather and document business and technical requirements, create functional documentation and test scripts, and support program management, system testing, and stakeholder coordination within federal government program environments.
  • Improve IT Processes & Documentation: Maintain accurate ticket documentation, asset tracking, and IT lifecycle management, while supporting process improvement initiatives, vulnerability remediation coordination, and program deliverables to enhance operational efficiency and cybersecurity readiness.
