Network Engineer – Hybrid

Our client seeks a Network Engineer to be involved in field installation and support of network server, SAN, data/voice infrastructure, and virtualization and security solutions, as well as work in the Network Operations Center, configuring and monitoring security solutions, providing remote support and administration, deploying and supporting virtual servers in the cloud services Infrastructure as a Services business practice, and assisting with solutions design and project management.  Participation in a rotating emergency on-call rotation is required. Starting compensation is commensurate with experience and certifications. 

 

To be successful, you should have:

  • 3+ years experience as Sr. Network Engineer, 1+ years as Jr. Network Engineer, preferably in an MSP setting.
  • Hands-on expertise in installing, configuring, and supporting Windows systems, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, firewalls, switches, access points, and MS365.
  • MCSA or Microsoft 365 Associate certification required; CompTIA N+ or Security+ preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco DUO and MS365 Endpoint Management (MDM, Intune, etc.).
  • Substantial networking understanding, including TCP/IP, routing, and proficiency in RMM tools in an MSP environment.
  • Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in design, installation, configuration, support, administration, and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, security systems and infrastructures, Microsoft Server and Desktop platforms, and VMware virtualization.
  • Ability to travel to client sites in the NJ/NY metro area (using a company car).

 

Top candidates will have:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with clients regarding projects and their support needs.
  • Experience administering and supporting EMC Storage Area Networks (SAN) a plus.
  • Microsoft MCSE and advanced M365/Azure certifications strongly preferred.
  • VMware VCP and VCAP certifications preferred.

 

What you’ll do as the Network Engineer:

  • Provide remote and on-site support for PC, server, and network infrastructure in the NJ and NY metropolitan areas.
  • Installation, configuration, and repair of PCs and Servers, including imaging and VMware setup.
  • Deployment and administration of Windows Server solutions, MS365, MS Azure, and email migrations.
  • Configuration and support of Switches, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points, and VPN gateways.
  • Documentation creation, incident response, and participation in emergency on-call rotation.
