Product Manager, Enterprise Data Engineering

We are seeking a Product Manager, Enterprise Data Engineering to join our team.


This position is responsible for defining data pipeline solution strategy and business plans, identifying business opportunities, and creating functional specifications as part of Insperity’s Enterprise Data Engineering (EDE) organization. Collaborates regularly with developers, architects, analysts, data scientists, and business facing users across various data initiatives, and ensures delivered solutions effectively satisfy business needs. Participates in the improvement of our company’s data architecture and visualization strategies to support next generation products and data initiatives.


Responsibilities:


  • Works seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels including Executives, Product Management, Centers of Excellence, Business leaders, and others.
  • Partners with stakeholders to define data pipeline solutions that provide actionable, data driven insights.
  • Works closely with Business Units to understand data pipeline needs and translates them into appropriate feature sets.
  • Ensures the definition and management of product releases and project teams meet the defined schedules.
  • Ensures all customer and quality requirements are satisfied in the data pipeline and solution delivery.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements with a heavy focus on automation, data delivery optimization, self-service, and scalability.
  • Collaborates with various infrastructure and architecture teams to optimize acquisition and transformation of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and other ‘big data’ technologies.
  • Defines self-service/highly scalable visualization and reporting strategies across the enterprise.
  • Validates that data is prepared for efficient and effective visualization and reporting.
  • Ensures data security across all implementations, data centers, cloud providers, client machines, etc.
  • Collaborates with team members to build and optimize our company’s data assets into an innovative competitive advantage.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, MIS, or Computer Science is required.
  • Three to five years product management experience is required, with product focus on data strategy and data pipeline solutions strongly preferred. Prior managerial experience and work in a high-tech environment are preferable.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with MSSQL and other relational databases.
  • Understanding of various big data management tools/techniques, e.g. Hadoop, Snowflake, Redshift, Tableau, PowerBI, Databricks, etc.
  • Understanding of data governance concepts.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce, including knowledge of the data model, CRMA recipes, and embedded dashboards.
  • Ability to use tools and methods like SQL, Excel, and Tableau to perform data reconciliation.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong consensus building skills and the ability to find common ground or mutual agreement across complex topics involving compromise, negotiation, and similar tactics.
  • Ability to quickly learn the data and business processes within the applicable source applications.
  • Ability to express complex, technical topics to management, peers, and others who may not possess a strong data background. Can express deep or technical topics in easy-to-understand terms.
  • Ability to define clear prioritization of requested business requests, and flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • A positive team player with a sense of urgency directed toward the provision of successful solutions for specific projects.
  • Exhibits a passion for learning and continuous improvement. Takes responsibility for acquiring new skills and broadening knowledge.
  • Exhibits a commitment to the utilization of defined standards and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
  • Proactive at identifying and recommending areas for improvement and increased reliability.
  • Ability to create technical documentation and a desire to share that knowledge amongst team members.


Insperity provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $108,800 – $137,200.
