Senior Workers Compensation Claim Coordinator

 

Provides support to the Workers' Compensation Claims Department. Key functions of this position include administrative support, customer service, interdepartmental communications, vendor support and data integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes First Report of Injury (FROI) workers’ compensation claims.

  • Completes wage statements and wage runs for indemnity workers' compensation claims.

  • Sends Leave of Absence Request Forms to the authorized client representative listed in AIMS for employees that meet the serious health condition criteria as outlined in FMLA.

  • Monitors and documents work status changes of injured workers and communicates these changes to the Leave & Disability Group, HR, Payroll, and the Contact Center.

  • Answers general workers' compensation inquiries, assists with technical claims questions, answers questions related to health benefits and Flexible Spending Accounts from internal constituents and external customers.

  • Retrieves voicemails from the Team Line and responds to inquiries or forwards to appropriate personnel.

  • Completes supplemental State forms.

  • Indexes and distributes incoming faxes, mail and prepares outgoing mail including, but not limited to, Third Party Administrator (TPA).

  • Ensures that returned SRS reporting instructions and Physician Panel documents are mailed to the client’s correct address.

  • Forwards OSHA requests via OSHA Letter to designated client contact.

  • Ensures State-specific Employer requirements are met such as providing State supplemental reports, bona fide job duty letters and wage information to the TPA.

  • Assists in the resolution of claim issues/problems.

  • Assists, as assigned, with the coordination of Return to Work (RTW) efforts between client, TPA and Managed Care Organization (MCO), education of clients on RTW program benefits and encouragement of participation, involvement in RTW team meetings and maintenance of client bank of transitional job descriptions.

  • Confers with the applicable Field Services Operations personnel on an employee’s qualifications to perform the essential functions of a transitional job, bona fide job offers and personnel actions.

  • Monitors indemnity claims for appropriate plan of action, resolution, pursuit of subrogation recovery, and enters well-documented evidence in Insperity notes.

  • Assists the WC group with other projects and duties, as assigned.

  • Acts as back up for designated personnel.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required.

  • Two to three years of experience in the insurance industry is required.
