In this role, you will oversee initiatives, translating data into actionable program strategies, and ensure measurable impact through performance metrics and continuous improvement. You will collaborate cross-functionally with policy, communications, development, and program teams to align evidence-based program designs with advocacy priorities and community engagement goals. You will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, cultivate partnerships with academic and community stakeholders, and elevate national thought leadership in LGBTQ+ family research and equity-centered program design.

You should have the following qualifications.        

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, Community Psychology, Gender Studies, or related field (PhD preferred), with 8+ years of senior-level experience leading research-driven programs or strategic initiatives within LGBTQ+, public health, or equity-focused organizations.
  • Advanced expertise in evidence-based program design, knowledge in research methodologies, data analytics, evaluation science, impact measurement, and community-based participatory research; deep knowledge of LGBTQ+ populations, intersectionality, health disparities, and public policy landscapes.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and large-scale, evidence-based initiatives; ability to translate complex research into actionable strategy; proven track record building cross-sector partnerships and representing organizational thought leadership nationally (occasional travel as needed).

 

Your responsibilities as the Vice President of Program Strategy will include:        

  • Provide Executive Leadership & Strategic Vision – Serve as the senior leader for research, program strategy, and impact measurement. Advise executive leadership and the Board on LGBTQ+ research, policy trends, and equity frameworks to guide long-term organizational strategy.
  • Lead Evidence-Based Research & Program Design – Oversee rigorous quantitative and qualitative research, comprehensive needs assessments, and research-to-practice frameworks that translate data into scalable, culturally responsive programs addressing disparities impacting LGBTQ+ families.
  • Drive Program Impact, Evaluation & Operational Excellence – Direct development of evidence-based initiatives; establish evaluation models, logic frameworks, KPIs, and impact metrics; oversee budgets, data systems, and performance standards to ensure measurable, sustainable outcomes.
  • Build Partnerships, Lead Teams & Elevate Thought Leadership – Mentor and develop high-performing teams; foster cross-functional collaboration; cultivate partnerships with academic, policy, and community stakeholders; represent the organization as a national thought leader in LGBTQ+ family research and equity-centered strategy.
