Director, Product Marketing


We are currently seeking a Director, Product Marketing to join our team.


This position is responsible for leading the team of product and client marketers.  This role is recognized as being an expert in the Company’s products and clients, deeply understanding the features and capabilities of the Company’s products.  This position requires expertise in the markets in which the Company competes, including competitive positioning.  This position partners closely with leadership in product management, sales, and services to develop clear, compelling, and differentiated value propositions and messaging.  This role also works with campaign planning to ensure that messaging is effectively incorporated into the Company’s marketing campaigns.  


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as an expert in the Company’s market, audience, regions, and products.
  • Applies market and audience insights to build differentiated value propositions and compelling messaging for the Company’s products, aligned to target buyer segments.  Develops and leads product launches and supporting go to market activities.
  • Partners with campaign planning to ensure product messaging is effectively incorporated into the Company’s marketing campaigns, aligned to business goals.  Effectively manages analyst relationships, ensuring they are briefed on an appropriate basis to help improve the Company’s awareness/perception in the market.
  • Ensures an enabled route to market that can achieve targets for the Company’s products.  Understands full deal flow for the Company’s products: pipeline metrics and forecasts, conversion rates throughout the funnel, average deal size, length of sales cycle, customer acquisition cost, product feature adoption rate, and customer lifetime value. 
  • Understands the client lifecycle, from prospect to on-boarding to adoption to renewal to advocacy.  Identifies areas across the client lifecycle where marketing can have the biggest impact to the business.  Works with appropriate stakeholders across the business to build, execute, and measure effectiveness of those programs.
  • Teams with external partners on the development and execution of jointly developed products and solutions.
  • Acts as an exceptional leader of people, with the ability to effectively coach and mentor the team to continually improve performance and achieve career and business goals.  Oversees hiring decisions of the team.   Builds high performing teams and identifies future leaders.  Ensures the team is aligned to the business strategy, monitors the team’s progress toward achieving business objectives, and holds the team accountable for achieving business results.
  • Recognizes the need for change across the department, looking for continuous improvement opportunities, monitoring internal and external business conditions, and clarifying the need for change.  Takes accountability to implement change, create momentum, and influence others through intentional communication.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required. MBA is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of product marketing experience in a related B2B field is required.  
  • Previous experience leading a team of B2B product marketers is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated exceptional, experienced leader of people.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leaders across the business.
  • Demonstrated campaign management experience and skills, preferably in a B2B technology or services industry.
  • Strong consensus building skills and the ability to find common ground or mutual agreement across complex technical topics between stakeholder groups – often involving compromise, negotiation, and similar tactics.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Effective problem solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.  
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other computer applications as needed.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
