Director, Risk Management 

We are currently seeking a Director, Risk Management to join our team. This position is responsible for the development and execution of micro level risk management strategies relative to the credit exposure posed by Workforce Acceleration (WX) clients as identified through analysis of business and financial operations of clients.  Establishes and maintains guardrails for preventing and combating payroll threats to protect Insperity against payroll scams, noncompliance, and disturbances stemming from disasters. Risks must be understood and communicated, and credit exposures balanced with the Company’s acceptable risk levels.  Decision-making is very extensive, guided by policy and objective, with significant influence on customer service, client retention and internal Company financial metrics. 

Responsibilities: 

• Determines the approach and executes functional strategy in the credit risk and loss mitigation area and accountable for end-to-end results. 

• Assesses risk when business decisions are made, responsible for forecasting changes in future market trends, as well as predicting the financial impact of changes to the organization. 

• Develops and maintains fraud prevention policy and defense strategies for Traditional Employment Solutions (TES).

• Supervises extension of credit function. Ensures adherence with company credit/default policy including periodic revision or update of the policy.  

• Approves existing client funding determinations and credit limits per client request or standard review policy.

• Owns end-to-end aspects of responsibilities including strategy, analytics, risk execution, and risk oversight in accordance with company policy and applicable supervisory or regulatory guidelines.

• Oversees follow-up on extensions of credit, NSFs, and unreported payrolls to outside collection as necessary up to an including termination process resulting from financial default. 

• Maintains responsibility for credit authorization, payment, or termination decisions up to defined financial thresholds. Prepares recommendations to TES leadership on items exceeding financial thresholds to ensure proper insight on high-risk decisions. 

• Builds inclusive and collaborative partnerships across multiple departments, with various approaches to influence and plan work around common goals.

• Works with multiple subject matter experts across teams to review recommendations, generate options and make decisions. Ensures that the team is aligned around the achievement of business objectives.

• Develops and executes plans with input from multiple teams, establishing accountability and clarity.

• Sets expectations by connecting team outcomes to business goals. Creates KPIs to achieve high standards of excellence.

• Recognizes need for change across the department, oversees the development of change plans, monitoring internal and external business conditions and reporting progress. 

• Takes accountability to implement change, create momentum, and influence others.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or Economic Crime Investigation is required.

• Ten or more years of experience in Finance, Investigations, Banking, Compliance, or job-related field is required.
